Why an accountant is building AI tools for accountants.

I'm Peter Nalepa. I've spent twenty years inside small and mid-size accounting practices — five years as a senior tax accountant at a large regional CPA firm in South Florida (2013–2018), then as the founder of PTN Accounting LLC since 2018. I'm an Enrolled Agent and I hold a Master's in Business Analytics from Florida Atlantic University.

Most software for accountants is built by developers who assume they understand the accounting process. They don't — not the way the people running through it daily do. The tweaks, the edge cases, the workarounds that hold a real practice together rarely surface in product requirements. So the harder questions go unasked. What do we actually need? What steps are we taking? Which solutions actually fit a real practice? Developers compromise on features they themselves will never have to use.

Nalepa Labs™ is the response. We build software that solves the problems accountants and business owners actually face — and we work directly with accounting teams to develop custom solutions for their specific workflows. We're not selling AI. We're selling closed books, finished returns, and time back.
